God loves you!

Have you ever accepted God's invitation to join His family?

Do you remember ... the moment?

If you have ever been married, you surely remember that moment ... that decision ... that enormously life-changing event.  If you have ever been in the presence of a close family member or friend when they died, you undoubtedly remember such a moment as utterly incomprehensible, unfathonable, and certainly unforgettable.

There are other significant moments in everyone's life that become indelibly imprinted on one's mind;  ...  however,  no single moment  is as significant or as memorable in anyone's life as the moment when one makes the live-changing decision to accept God's invitation to join His family and to be earnestly, genuinely, and "all-in" committed to know God, to love and worship Him, and to follow Him as the single most important focus of their life.

This is an either-or decision and either-or moment.  Either one has made this decision ... or they have not.  It is impossible to be unsure about whether or not one has made this decision and this commitment.

This is the single most important decision of all the decisions that anyone will ever make in their entire life.  It is simply not possible to gradually transition into this decision.  It is the most monumental, life-changing decision that anyone will ever make, and the moment that one makes this decision will be the most indelible of all of life's decisions and experiences.

To make this decision is to become what the the Bible describes as to be "born again."  It is a once-in-a-life-time experience. (Search The AV7 Bible for the words: born again)

Now, it is true that someone can be born and raised in a family where their parents or grandparents or others who raised them were strong believers in God, and therefore they may have grown up with some degree of belief in God.  Yet there is an enormous difference between believing in God and believing God and loving God with all of one's heart, soul, mind, and strength. (see Matthew 22:37)

If you are one who has always believed in God (to some degree or another), you may feel that your way of believing in God is quite sufficient and you do not "feel" any need to make any further decision or declare any stronger commitment.  Well, that is between you and God.  It is not for anyone else to judge how committed you are to God.

There are many different ways of thinking about God and many different "belief systems."  Please consider the list and descriptions further below.

Here is the bottom line:

More detailed descriptions of various concepts of God will be added shortly.

Draft notes:

Atheism  is a religion with extremely strong fundamental beliefs, often even quite militant, in which adherents are emphatic and absolute in their insistence that there is no such thing as "God" and no such thing as an ultimate cause or purpose in life.  The term "atheism" literally means "anti-theism" or "against theism" or "against God" (theism is any type of belief in God or gods).

Agnosticism  Agnostics generally do not assert with absolute certainty that God does not exist, as atheists do.  But rather, agnostics usually express the opinion that it is impossible to know with certainty that God exists or to know anything concrete about God.  Agnostics will often assert that there is no way to prove or disprove the existence of God or of any "supreme being" or "ultimate cause."  Rather, they generally tend to suggest that the essential nature of everything is unknown and unknowable and that human knowledge is limited to experience.

Religious "grandchildren"  are the children of believers in any religion or system of belief who have simply gone-along-with whatever religion or belief system that their parents or grandparents may have espoused or followed without making a definitive decision of their own to embrace some particular religion or belief.  As children advance in age, at some point they generally either accept or reject whatever religion that they "inherited," or they may explore and experiment with various different religions and perhaps choose one (or more) to follow.  Often such exploration and experimentation may evolve through multiple different concepts.
